Glendinning Paul

Glendinning Paul is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Alabama. She discovered her passion for art at an early age and went on to study at Auburn University where she cultivated her skills as a visual artist and explored her love for dance. Glendinning’s work is characterized by a deep exploration of movement. As a dancer, she has a unique understanding of how the body moves and uses this to create pieces that are both dynamic and expressive. Her work is often high in contrast, with an emphasis on bold brush work and movement. Glendinning continues to push the boundaries of her art, exploring new techniques and mediums to create work that is both innovative, but personal. She resides in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband and five-year-old son.

Artist Statement

"I find inspiration in the natural world around me. The movement within nature and its elements are a constant source of inspiration. My work is an attempt to capture the fluidity and colors of nature in a way that is both dynamic and contemplative. I am looking to create tension and balance between light and dark, adding a sense of depth and complexity. I work in layers, building up my pieces and creating high-contrast forms to create a sense of movement and depth. Each layer is a response the previous one.

My process is one of constant experimentation and exploration as I try to push myself outside of my comfort zone. Through my work, I hope to inspire others to see the world in a new light and to appreciate the intricate rhythms of nature and movement as expressed through art."
