Our goal through Rome Curate is to offer luxury timeless items and furnishings that enrich your daily life with ease and elegance. Join us as we embark on this journey together!
Our Founder
Rome Curate’s owner and founder, Nicole Roby, is an interior designer by trade and an entrepreneur at heart. Her first entrepreneurship venture began in 2019 when she took a leap of faith and established her own interior design firm, Nicole Roby Designs. Her passion and love for design have propelled this venture to success. Along with her commitment to collaborate with her clients, she places functional beauty at the forefront of her creativity. Since being in the design industry for close to fifteen years now, Nicole decided it was time to pursue her lifelong dream of owning her own lifestyle brand, Rome Curate.
“Rome Curate was born as a vision of a lifestyle brand, and I want it to be an outlet for clients to be able to find curated pieces for the everyday use of their home,” said Nicole. “An elevated space should be done with ease and function, and Rome Curate is a good host for our clients and designers to find that.”
Our Collection
Rome Curate will encompass a diverse array of lifestyle items, spanning from custom home furnishings and décor to skincare, fashion essentials, and more.
Both Rome Curate’s furniture and rug collection was artfully designed by Nicole Roby herself. With each piece embodying an elegant and enduring look, Nicole is determined to make her pieces as functional as they are beautiful.
“When I was designing these pieces for the collection, the basic principle that kept coming back to me was that everything needed to be functional…every piece that was designed for this collection was meant to be lived on,” said Nicole. “And don’t get me wrong, they’re beautiful…we did not sacrifice elegance or quality for any of these items.”
After designing the furniture, drafts were sent to artisans in Hickory, North Carolina to then be handcrafted and upholstered.
And woven in the traditional Oushak style, are our rugs. Each rug is hand-knotted in New Zealand wool by artisans who have been producing fine rugs for years.
“When we curated our rugs, we wanted to look for timeless patterns and color hues that would be a good foundation for any room,” said Nicole.
From décor to fashion essentials, we believe in the importance of accessorizing yourself as well as your home. Handpicked by the Rome Curate team, you will not only find ageless and exquisite items for styling and decorating but also fashionable staples. You will even find impressive and distinctive art painted by our very own local artists in Birmingham, Alabama.
Lastly, on our Rest & Restore page, you will discover that our skincare is bottled and made in South Korea. Being Asian American and having family in the beauty industry in Seoul, Korea, Nicole has always been passionate about Korean skincare. When brainstorming Rome Curate essentials, Nicole decided that Korean skincare was a must added feature!
“For years, I’ve been using Korean skincare,” said Nicole. “I found out years into using it that Korean skincare and cosmetics are a cutting-edge development…When you go to Italy, they tell you to get the pasta and the pizza, when you visit Seoul, Korea, they say you’ve got to get a face mask.”
With luxury brands such as The History of Whoo and O HUI, Rome Curate will be a vessel for others to access these Korean products.
